STAC presents its recycled polyamide for thermal break profiles for aluminium systems.
Our new PA 66 25GF RE recycled polyamide achieves a 70% reduction in CO2 emissions, a 60% reduction in water consumption and a 70% reduction in the use of virgin materials.
After intensive research and development, STAC has successfully developed a material for thermal break profiles composed entirely of PA 66 and recycled fibreglass, coming from post-industrial streams.
PA 66 is an engineering plastic suitable for use as a thermal break material in aluminium systems.
Until now these profiles have been manufactured from virgin material derived from fossil resources. The PA 66 25GF RE designed by STAC gives a second life to a polyamide from clean, homogeneous and reliable sources, which offers high precision extrusion. 25% recycled fibreglass is added to the recycled polyamide, so that the resulting final material is sustainable.
The consistency of the sources used and the use of our additives ensures that the same mechanical properties are maintained.
In five years, 40% of STAC’s production will use recycled materials.
Currently the sources of PA 66 and recycled fibreglass are scarce.
That is why our R+D+i laboratory continues to work in multiple directions, working hand in hand with recyclers to expand and improve the classification of raw materials at entry to the process, with the aim of ensuring that in the next 5 years we achieve that 40% of our production uses recycled material.
Our goal for 2028 is to reduce the environmental impact caused by the manufacture of our profiles whilst maintaining their quality and reliability, and to increase the sources of recycled material to meet the growing market demand, with the aim of zero waste.
