However, thermal insulation is not only essential to maintain the internal temperature during the winter season, but it also plays a crucial role during summer, when protection from the outside heat is just as important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify wp-block-heading\">What is thermal insulation and why is it crucial for your project?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify \">Thermal insulation is a set of materials and techniques used to reduce heat transfer between the interior and exterior of a building. It is essential for improving the energy efficiency of buildings and minimising the amount of energy used for heating or cooling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify \">Implementing an efficient insulation can generate energy savings of up to 50%, which translates into a substantial reduction in operating costs and a significant improvement in energy efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify wp-block-heading\">The critical points of heat loss in a building<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify \">One of the most critical points in any building where the majority of heat loss occurs are the windows. These areas must be properly protected with insulating materials that offer low thermal transmittance and high thermal resistance. At STAC, we offer you advanced thermal insulation solutions that improve thermal performance in these critical areas, ensuring the conservation of the internal temperature and optimising the energy efficiency of your building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify wp-block-heading\">What is the thermal bridge and how does it affect energy efficiency?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify \">A thermal bridge is a point or linear area in the insulating envelope of a building where the heat is more easily transmitted, due to a variation in thermal resistance. It is a point where the insulating surface is broken allowing a direct connection between the interior and the exterior, which leads to an easier flow of energy. This phenomenon can cause energy losses and surface condensation, which in turn reduces energy efficiency and thermal comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify \">One of the main causes of thermal bridges are window and door openings, especially when conductive materials such as aluminium are used. This metal has a high coefficient of thermal conductivity so in order to mitigate this effect, it is necessary to implement materials that break the thermal continuity, known as &#8220;thermal bridge break&#8221; (RPT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify \">At STAC we make polyamide (PA66) TBB profiles with 25% fibreglass (GF) that are the common components in our profiles and contribute to improve energy efficiency in the building sector. We have also researched and developed new solutions such as <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stac.es\/en\/news\/hitep-polyamide\/\">HITEP<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stac.es\/en\/news\/procoat-solution\/\">PROCOAT<\/a><\/span>, RE and RE+ with special characteristics for better thermal insulation results, ease of coating and contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify wp-block-heading\">Measurement and analysis of thermal efficiency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify \">At STAC, we have a technical department specialised in the analysis of thermal efficiency of insulation systems. Using advanced software and in accordance with the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iso.org\/obp\/ui\/#iso:std:iso:10077:-2:ed-3:v1:en\">UNE-ES ISO 10077-2 standard<\/a><\/span>, we carry out thermal transmittance studies that allow us to accurately calculate the amount of heat that passes through a window, according to time, area and temperature difference. This analysis is essential to validate the effectiveness of TBB profiles and ensure that they comply with the most demanding energy efficiency standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify wp-block-heading\">Towards a more sustainable and efficient future<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"extendedwopts-md-justify \">The implementation of thermal insulation systems, especially those that include thermal bridge break (TBB) technologies, not only improves comfort in the household, but also contributes to sustainability and energy savings.
